Usually there are no penalties for hitting jaywalkers who aren't in crosswalks. They put themselves in harm's way. This should be treated the same way. They are putting themselves in harm's way.

It only covers the rights of the protestors, not the rights of those people ( who are minding their own damn business) that are being stomped on by the protestors? Not all fatalities  are legally considered murder. When people put themselves in harm's way, such as illegally standing in front of a moving truck going 60 mph on the freeway, and they get harmed, then why is it murder?

Driving a vehicle into a crowd of people IS MURDER

See, here's the reality of what you're intentionally dismissing.

One, there is a video of protesters blocking a main road with them handcuffed  or tied to what looks like an empty metal boat trailer (in Texas, I believe), stopping traffic for miles until a police car tore through it, dragging a few of them along for a few feet, but certainly an action that could have resulted in serious injury or death.  The cops then pulled over and got out to handcuff and arrest those lying in the street.  End of protest.  Period.  
So how can people not believe they can do the same?

Secondly, if I was a person driving, maybe with my wife and kids in the car, and slowed to a stop at the line of protesters, I'd be putting my family in danger of an unruly mob then surrounding my car and becoming a serious threat to our own safety.  And that's all a jury would have to hear to rule that my action in plowing through them was completely justified.

And finally, no one seems to recognize the fact that IF this was found to be legal, even if some protesters were hurt or killed, this kind of stupid **** would stop immediately, and no longer be an issue because protesters wouldn't try it again!

If that were to take place, the driver would deserve a medal!

Show some examples of Conservative Protestors of any sort blocking the freeways, highways or main boulevards.
