And if they respect neither law nor rights, why should I risk my fragile health by allowing them to gain physical access to me in a stalled car?

I had an 82 year old woman run me over in the Kroger parking lot with her Lincoln about 7 or 8 years ago. Ripped the hide off my right calf and broke my foot in two places. That **** hurt... and no, I wasn't protesting anything. She was just old and didn't see me.
The EMT's and an ambulance came and ended up taking her to the hospital with a possible heart attack. She thought she had killed me, poor thing. Lol

One, there is a video of protesters blocking a main road with them handcuffed or tied to what looks like an empty metal boat trailer (in Texas, I believe), stopping traffic for miles until a police car tore through it, dragging a few of them along for a few feet, but certainly an action that could have resulted in serious injury or death. The cops then pulled over and got out to handcuff and arrest those lying in the street. End of protest. Period.
So how can people not believe they can do the same?
Secondly, if I was a person driving, maybe with my wife and kids in the car, and slowed to a stop at the line of protesters, I'd be putting my family in danger of an unruly mob then surrounding my car and becoming a serious threat to our own safety. And that's all a jury would have to hear to rule that my action in plowing through them was completely justified.
And finally, no one seems to recognize the fact that IF this was found to be legal, even if some protesters were hurt or killed, this kind of stupid **** would stop immediately, and no longer be an issue because protesters wouldn't try it again!
If that were to take place, the driver would deserve a medal!
If I'm on the jury, running over speed bumps IS legal.
