None of us really knows anything.

We do know some things.  Here's what we know

• Oct 7 - Hamas attacks Israel
• Oct 13, Israel tells all Gaza residents to evacuate
• Oct 18, Israel still has not begun any ground invasion of Gaza.

I'd pump war into them but I believe that was tried in Vietnam and it did not work.  The US tried all kinds of stuff and it was no effect on a large scale.

I think the only way you could destroy them is with a low altitude B-52 strike,

Here's my thought on how to conduct tunnel warfare in Gaza.

• At night, fly drones with infrared cameras over Gaza in a grid pattern. Look for heat signatures appearing and disappearing. Those will likely be tunnel entrances
• Bait Hamas fighters to coming out of their tunnels at night with a series of faux ground invasions. Don't kill them, just note the heat signatures. 
• Then, its like exterminating fire ants. You poison the ant mounds.

           I think Tunnels dug under open ground leading to the Israeli / Gaza border can be taken out with Bunker Buster type Ordnance... 
    But I'm sure much of their Tunnel network is under densely populated urban areas ---- THat's going to require someone going in and wire them with explosives..... As you mention, perhaps the Israeli version of a Tunnel Rat....

We armchair generals need to be patient.

I would be patient if I could verify that Israel is flying drones over Gaza in a grid pattern with infrared detectors to discover precisely where the tunnels are located.  That would be worth the delay.

Why not just dump thousands of gallons of Iranian diesel fuel in there and light the place up?
