This might be hard to believe but I do !   I use to go to a civil war "round table."

I've read 100 civil books on the civil war and a have and stumped civil experts with this.  My super smart sister (who has the same thing I do but never did drugs) figured right out and she knows very little about the conflict.  I also have read about Vietnam...mostly about VC tactics and NVA politics in the ranks.  General Giap (pronounced Jap) is one of greatest modern Generals !

I was in army for 6 + years and learned a thing or to.

And what perspectives did all of this experience leave you with that the rest of us are missing?

I take it you understand that weapons can run short if the people deciding supply are listening to their constituents who build tanks rather than their general who want missiles? You understand that supply is critical - yes?

I consider that a non sequitur.

I have read and profited from Sun Tsu. This is something that maybe one in fifty people can do. Folks with reasonably high IQs - say, in the 120's - are not able to do this. It requires an IQ in the 130's and above to benefit at all from the book - and even those must be the studious type. After that, diligence and intellect are the two ingredients determining benefit - with intellect weighing higher. An IQ in the 140's will likely profit more than one in the 130's, for example.

So, in order for you to assume that your experiences make you better at "tactics" and "how the wheels turn," you have to make assumptions about both my intellect and my experiences. The higher my intellect, the more my experiences will inform me. I could put a monkey into your experiences and that monkey would profit not at all - for want of intellect. I could put a raging genius into your circumstances and he would profit a great deal more than you have done.

If we are going to start making assumptions about each others' intellects - oh, wait. I've already done that with you. I need to go back and dummy this down a bit. Gimme a minute... Image

The biggest criminal act of the Obama administration against the American people was to allow unfettered access to our NSA databases by civillian tech companies whom copied the files of every American and used that data to profile via the use of those companies emerging AI programs to foster  propaganda campaigns against both sides of the political spectrum in order to control both sides eternally.....

None of that comments on the fact that we appear unable to service two theaters with sufficient missiles.

Nor does it account for the fact that a third could open at any time.

And do not imagine for a moment that these three flash points are the only ones that can flare up on us. The Gulf of Oman has half of the entire world's shipping passing through it, AND it has a strategic choke point that Iran can make mischief in the minute we get over-extended (which I think happened already - and we just don't know it).

If it chose to do so, Russia could probably park armies on Poland's border in a matter of weeks. If we keep pissing off the Turks, they could close the black sea to our military vessels. If israel and egypt go at it, the suez might be out of play, which would cripple the world's economy. If someone funds and incentives FARQ, the Panama Canal could be disrupted and slowed to a crawl - again at great cost to the global economy.

If these things were to happen, countries whose economies are principally physical economies would likely suffer less than those whose economies are financialized.

None of these facts have much to do with studying the american civil war or the tactics of victor charlie.

The right's "gubmint is the problem" narrative has been running for my adult life. The left's distrust of government - as opposed to contempt for it - ran until the obama years.

Just look at all the terrorism this nation has ever seen - outside of the kkk terrorizing your uppities. Every act of terror directed at government has been from the left. And this is because the left has traditionally seen the government as evil and deserving of punishment. The right has typically seen it as stupid and deserving of contempt.

Look at reagan. His entire motif was to paint government as the problem and the private sector as the solution. And then he grew the **** out of government and created tens of thousands of new bureaucratic rules and hired tens of thousands of officers to enforce the new rules. Here - just look:

No sir, I do not remember a time when the right has not considered the government stupid - nor a time before Obama when the left id not consider it evil.

I thought were talking artillery rounds !  Any...those ships have enough ammo on them to fight any serrano or in thier supply ship. When you talk about a Carrier Group that means they have everything they need on supporting supply ships in a AO.

Right now...sending another CG is just Uncle Sam flex his muscles.

Now I know you do shun me because I have said that numerous times about puting tanks on the border.  How ever  they would put all of NATO up on thier borders.  If the =15pxballoon goes up NATO would go for the weakest point of the Russian lines and that serves for several reasons.

Right Turkey is walking on the fence so to speak.  They have a 50% Muslim population, and it serves the GOV best to keep them from power...hence they keep a western appearance.

And most of the proxy countries are cultural ****.

Cultural **** are rarely able to field strong armies. They tend to produce weak soldiers and mediocre generals who are better at politics than at strategy.
