This begs the question: 

If it's Israel's very existence that is the burr under the saddle,
would Jews worldwide be better off after its demise?

Minor followup:
What would take the place of the land mass currently defined by the Israeli border that would placate the planet Earth's anger? A peaceful result would be the intention of utter destruction of Israel after all...

It'd be a gosh darn shame to see anyone dissatisfied after the fact.

Israel's treatment of the Palis is the burr.

Seems normal for an illegally imprisoned people to revolt from time to time.
But this is the last time. The Empire needs a win badly - its been a while.
So eliminating some of the weakest people on earth will be deemed a big win by psychos.
