I watch some Rick Beato vids on You Tube once in a while.
He's a music analyst of sorts. (I have never researched him. I don't care what his history is.)
He claims to have 10's of thousands of recordings of music that will never be produced, published, promoted.
The description he gave of the "why" behind the difficulty of breaking out was interesting.
The music industry is tainted as ****. Computers helped **** it all up. Raw talent is secondary.

Did you see the vid with him holding up a can (recordings on tape) making the claim?
Might have been the one where he said Muddy Magnolias were pretty good but would never really be heard.
I'm sure there are a lot of one-hit-wonders on those tapes but still...

The thing about Nashville is there are so many talented artists around that the standouts don't often standout locally. The amount of exceptional talent that is playing on the street for tips is crazy.
A lot of the younger generation doesn't like Beato because they feel he doesn't respect their music and give it enough credit when I think it's more that the new stuff is just outside of his wheelhouse. He's an old school session musician that would be better served analyzing and commenting on what he is from, instead of what's after. I like him just the same though. My 2¢
