I didn't see that one, but I remember the Muddy Magnolias creating quite a stir locally several years ago.

The thing about Nashville is there are so many talented artists around that the standouts don't often standout locally. The amount of exceptional talent that is playing on the street for tips is crazy.

A lot of the younger generation doesn't like Beato because they feel he doesn't respect their music and give it enough credit when I think it's more that the new stuff is just outside of his wheelhouse. He's an old school session musician that would be better served analyzing and commenting on what he is from, instead of what's after. I like him just the same though. My 2¢

His commentary about certain aspects of creating music, progressions, chord choices, etc. goes beyond just "liking" the current **** or not. He's saying that some stuff just doesn't exist anymore.
My layman's ear can grasp what he means if it's pointed out. I couldn't define it as he does but a lot of current music is uninteresting, over-produced, **** up sounding to me as well.

It's not like a Buddy Rich damning country music in toto because he drums well enough to say that. He was an asshole on a perch, in a bubble, etc. Lots of ego in the music biz. Beato was just looking at the lack of complexity I think. My 3¢.   

Speaking of drums "Count Me In" is about drummers. Kind of interesting.

the pissing contest of vanities between leaderships of reasonable doubt and societies promising better tomorrows than evolving sustained to this point do nothing but complain life isn't fair and it takes intellect to change outcomes of naturally timed part now.
