  Nothing to do but drum up war but then open borders and no local preparation for war at all, no stocked shelters and bankers deleting the accounts of the few remaining individuals trying to manufacture any of the products that would be necessary for survival.  You may not vote independent but you are probably going to be finding out why you needed to be more independent.
