Nothing like making a horrible situation a tad more unpleasant.

There was a History Channel show that referred to some little village in Greece or Turkey, I forget, but Aegean Sea area. The village was populated for centuries with Jews and Muslims. Living next door to each other in peace and tolerance.
WWI came along and **** it all up. People were forced to move out, expected to come back later, which never happened.
The place is abandoned now, I think.
So, the people themselves paid a very heavy price for something that had everything to do with political **** and not much about them.
Seemed like they were forced to choose sides which ends up always being some generationally passed on resentment.
...and all they wanted to do was raise goats and farm olives or some such thing.

I have a hard time believing that anyone living next to Jews will live peacefully. Read the Old Testament. They always started ****.
