I retired a few weeks before Biden took office, we are definitely better off and not just by a little. Of course it didn't have squat to do with Biden, our choices got us here. Grocery shopping is an art. I bought 40 pounds of chicken liver for 30 bucks last week along with 40 pounds of gizzards for 40 bucks, processed it all and put it in the freezer. I feed the dogs raw organ meat and cooked veggies cheaper than the cost of forcing them to spend their lives eating processed food from a bag - which is bad for any living creature. 

Most grocery stores have an aged meat bin. I buy my protein from there, and from the sales circular, exclusively.

I do not plan my meals and go to the store. I go to the store to plan my meals. This leaves me free to splurge for dairy that has not been homogenized and anything else that costs three times as much for higher quality.

My can opener is rusty from disuse. I cook my meals with my own good hand - I know what is in them. I buy Celtic sea salt and I use it course; only rarely is it ground. My spice rack is full of bulk spices. This makes them cheaper and keeps them fresher. 

Grocery shopping is an art - but yes, paint is getting more expensive, for sure. It does not impact me as much as it does most. But I do feel it. People eating chips and canned goods have to be suffering mightily, I would imagine.

She has been working a lot of overtime because of the labor shortage, and paid off her new SUV in 2 years. She just bought her land, and will start building a house in the spring.

Yes, it does.  She lives near her work.  Gas prices don't really affect her.  She rarely eats out; usually only when I come to visit.  She cooks at home, and limits her consumption of expensive meats.  At this time she is living in a modest studio apartment, and is putting several thousand dollars in savings per month.
