If any of you fully remember the Clinton era (which should be most on here) Bill Gates was known as the world's greatest philanthropist. He claimed to be giving most of his income away to good causes like fighting malaria and world hunger. Anyone following recent criticism from the likes of Robert F Kennedy on X say that instead he is actually doing most of this for his own profit. He even owns large swathes of land across the US where he grows crops while putting family farms out of business. His health measures have also been known for being ineffective and he makes money off many of them too. So what is true? Can good be done while also making a profit or dodging taxes through the chartable contribution loophole? Is the centralization of so much money in one person's hands a good idea? Bill Gates, hero or villain?

  Fuedal monarchy, wonderfull representation for favored subsidised corporation groups, little or no representation for the individual citizen.

the only good thing I heard him do was set up a cryogenic facility preserving plant seed...when he thought he became the world's most foremost expert on epidemiology, all bets were off...
