China is in the lead for the most incarcerated citizens per capita, but America is not far behind at number 2. We only represent 4.7% of the world's population, but house 20% of the world's prisoners.
We brag that America is the land of the free. Yet...^^^.
My question: Is it just easier to break the law in America or something? What can explain this?

Sir, that's total # of prisoners - not per capita.
Per capita its not even close.
China isnt even in the top 30 per capita.

My bad. Damn, we are more gay than I thought. China's population is over a billion. Ours is 330 million. Yet, the number of prisoners we have is pretty damn close to their numbers. We are only 15.5k fewer.
