It seems to me that winter will favor defenders - unless they can be cut off from supplies. Even then, people can keep their vitality on less than half of what they customarily consume. For many, cutting their diet by 50% would actually improve their vitality. I suspect that when winter closes in, Russia will target supply lines almost exclusively. Why waste a bullet and take a chance of casualties, on a guy you can just allow to starve?
