Again? Guess you don't take personal experience as history going forward every time you respond with the same stupidity.

@Redheaded Stranger is right. Most newer cars with so-called "sealed transmissions" are not worth repairing. If the Tranny's bad, just replace it, if the car is worth it. I can assure you, I would NEVER have Murdock work on a modern, sealed transmission. He'd F- it ups for sure.
Well, you are mistaken, I'm very good at fixing transmissions. The thing about it is people are gullible. They believe all the bs about "sealed transmissions" swallowing that crap hook line and sinker and end up with a poorly made product. Besides I wouldn't fix yours, not because I didn't like you or whatever, I'm just retired. I did my last one around two years ago. I still get asked but no, I'm done. If I were a poor technician I would never have been able to stay in the business as long as I did which was over 35 years. I wouldn't say I've seen it all but I came close I'm sure. Funny thing, of all the customers I had, I had two preachers and had to throw them both out. And I'm not saying I never made mistake or had to warranty one, I did, just notSkans » 04 Dec 2023, 12:07 pm » wrote: ↑ @Redheaded Stranger is right. Besides, these transmissions are good for 150K miles, at best. So, if your Trans goes out on you around 100K, just replace it. You can find remanufactured transmissions for about $2K. New OEM transmissions, more like $6,600. Still, if you have a $50,000 car or truck that is in good shape, its still worth fixing.
I drive the tits off my vehicles. But, then again, I prefer vehicles with standard transmissions. Just need to replace the clutch about every 120K miles.
My commuter car is not worth thousands of dollars. I drive it solely because of gas mileage. 80 mile round trip commute daily with virtually no chance of snow/ice except in January. Still, if it needed a new transmission.. it would cost more than the car is worth.murdock » 01 Dec 2023, 7:39 pm » wrote: ↑ You would junk out a car worth multiple thousands of dollars because it needs a transmission? More and more people have that mindset.impartialobserver » 04 Dec 2023, 1:15 pm » wrote: ↑ My commuter car is not worth thousands of dollars.
