Democrat Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont is withdrawing his plan to mandate future electric vehicle (EV) purchases after the proposal received bipartisan pushback from lawmakers on a key legislative panel.
Lamont ultimately pulled the proposal just four months after unveiling it and characterizing it as “decisive action to meet our climate pollution reduction targets.” In July, Lamont unveiled the proposal, tethering Connecticut’s emissions standards to those set in California, which mandates that every passenger vehicle sold is electric by 2035, the most aggressive target of its kind nationwide.
“Common sense has prevailed,” Connecticut Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly said in a statement. “The Governor’s decision to withdraw the regulations is a reasoned approach to address the growing concerns raised by working and middle-class families. Adopting California emission standards which ban the sale of gas-powered cars is a substantial policy shift which must be decided by the General Assembly.”

The Biden Admin would have loved to continue to drive our gasoline cost past the $10 / gallon mark...except that would have been political suicide for the Globalist JWO Party.

LMAO - our rickety grid is already teetering, and these clowns are trying to go electric on vehicles.

Just notice that the repuke in this deal is yowling for federal involvement. But, that IS a pretty risky presumption.

The nation is simply not ready for such a mandate and the technology has not progressed far enough yet.

It is moving along nicely but the grid can't handle it in most places. Most folks do not have a charging station at their home either so that would be just one more thing to consider.

To build the I frastructure will take a few more years. The more investment in this area will make it make more sense in the future. In a Democracy [like the one you pretend to care about] the people shouldn't be forced into economic hardship by a Totalitarian Government that has an agenda to FORCE THE PUBLIC TO SWITCH from gasoline to EV power.
Even If Team Biden could GIVE EV POWERED CARS to the people for free, the infrastructure to charge up 100 Million EV cars is many years away from being a reality.

Anyone in the northern 2/3 of the country has already crossed these stupid cars off their list since they watched the reality over the past month where they wouldn't charge or took many hours to charge in at least half a dozen states, and winter is far from over! A person living in the north watching those news reports would have to be the dumbest liberals on earth to still consider buying one!
