California Targets Without Gender-Neutral Toys Will Be Fined in 2024 (msn.com)


Some California stores are just weeks away from having to implement a gender-neutral section for children or face a penalty of up to $500, under a new bill. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation, titled Assembly Bill No. 1084, which will require some retail stores in the state to have a gender-neutral section for children "regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys."
The bill is set to go into effect on January 1, 2024, and states that stores failing to comply will be "liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $250 for a first violation or $500 for a subsequent violation, as provided. "The legislation applies to "a retail department store that is physically located in California that has a total of 500 or more employees across all California retail department store locations that sells childcare items or toys."The legislation comes shortly after some stores and brands faced widespread criticism and calls for boycotts over LGBTQ+ items sold during Pride season.

"The entire toy section is gender neutral already.

Boys and girls both can play with any toy we sell... now get out of my store."

Once again, it's a blatant attempt to force the left-wing agenda down the throats of the American people, no different than the Obamacare mandates that required businesses to provide healthcare insurance that contained the coverages Obama demanded.  Do you think the CA state will reimburse stores for their losses after forcing them to attempt to sell products that the store owners KNOW their customers don't want and will not be profitable?

The story made it clear that stores are obligated to do so or face hefty fines.  So I assume that if they were a department store, a clothing store, or any other stores that market their products geared to attract the attention of children, they will have to include these gender neutral **** products or be fined.  And that obviously takes away display space from other products that the store owners know would sell better than this crap.

The thing I'd be curious to learn is how much of a profit return those displays earn compared to the previous display they had in that spot in the store.  And if (as I suspect) that they don't sell nearly as well, that's a case of our tyrannical government forcing business to lose money for their absurd agenda.

Have an ope 3' section labeled "Gender Neutral".

I don't believe the law sets any parameters.  And of course, that will lead some radical leftists to claim that a store isn't following the law because it doesn't carry enough of a selection of such products, enabling them to give that store a fine.
