I know many religious people hang on to the whole "Jews are God's chosen people" statements in the bible. I was born and raised Catholic. I know about the whole "fear" and "guilt" thing. Therefore, I have to wonder if your defense of Israel stems from your ingrained fear that God might send you to hell if you speak against Israel...even though they are oppressive as hell.

Decades of oppression toward the Palestines. Keep in mind general rule of thumb: If Palestinians shoot rockets on Israel, then they are terrorists. If Israel steals their land, water supply, and homes, then Israel is a victim.

I don't buy into the whole "Chosen People" thing.  However, I tend to like Israel as a nation - except that part of it that harbors red-diaper doper babies. Let them live in their land and be successful.  While all of the other arabic nations are good for war and oil, Israel has a number of technology oriented cutting-edge companies. They have taken sizeable areas of desolate desert land and have re-forested them. They run efficient desalination plants and because of this every part of the land they have under their control thrives. 

In essence, they have turned a **** piece of land into productive farm lands, forests and productive technological centers. The stupid arabs would be smart to partner with Israel.  Heck, look at Saudi Arabia - mostly pathetic desert wasteland (well, I don't know if the Jews could help that place).  But, Lebanon and parts of Syria could be re-forested, turned into arable land and become beautiful, agrarian, productive lands.

israel bent over backwards to make sure palastine  never succeeded. israel gets 3 billion dollars a year from the US and keeps gaza an open air prison and evicted people from their homes.
