Not in the global firepower database and other databases.  Those can also be debated.

I don't buy these rankings.  If Russia is so strong why have they defeated Ukraine yet?  It should have been over in the first few months,

Exactly.

UkraIne has PROVEN that Russia is NO MATCH for the U.S. military... EOM !
AMERICA, and AMERICANS, NEED to WAKE up… There is NOTHING “Democratic” about the CURRENT American “Democrat Party”! THEY are more an amalgamation of Totalitarian Marxists, Socialists, Communists, and Globalists… who are BENT on TAKING, and then KEEPING power... & where ultimately the American PEOPLE will have NO SAY AT ALL in how we are GOVERNED... and our "Democracy" will be DEAD!!

Interesting. They are ranked #1 in power and military strength, but 37th in the world as the best country to live. America is ranked 5 as the best. If you look at the other metrics, Russia sucks at everything else. Their military is the only thing that is admirable.

Hence, the only moral path forward for the United States is to tell President Zelenskyy it's well past the time to sue for peace and that he must accept neutrality and the loss of the regions that seceded from Ukraine in 2014.

This is a bitter pill to swallow for Ukrainian nationalists and those in the United States who hoped Ukraine would do far more damage to Russia, but the alternative is accelerating Ukraine’s diminishing chances of remaining a viable nation-state, a whole lot more fruitless Ukrainian deaths, and peace terms substantially worse than those that can be negotiated today.

Every 100 years Russia tries to destroy Ukraine.

At a certain point, it's all made up - this business of whose military is "strongest."

Just for STARTERS, good generals with mediocre forces will very likely destroy bad ones with excellent forces. History will certainly back me up on this. The American Civil War is an example of superior generalship causing numerically inferior forces to hold out much longer than a straight statistical comparison would ever suggest they might.

Then there's the issue of where the war is fought. SOMEONE is likely to be fighting from supply - meaning that all of the ground behind the front is friendly and cooperative. Someone else is likely to be fighting out of supply - meaning they have an added challenge of logistics which, if not well managed, can tip the scales such that inferior forces can defeat superior forces who simply ran out of ammo or gasoline.

The forces fighting out of supply are required to expend great amounts of manpower and capital in taking the fight to the theater. In the past, the US has shown reasonable mastery in this regard. But in the present, much energy and capital is being expended in teaching equity, diversity and inclusion. It is hard to imagine we do not have extremely clever enemies embedded in our military command structure - likely at the cabinet level.

Added to that, all of our ancillary production has been offshored to probable unfriendlies. So whereas we still have significant productive capacities when it comes to weapons manufacturing, our ability to quickly double or triple productive capacity is not what it used to be. What we know for certain is that we dare not fight the Russians in a manner that relies on artillery. And their hypersonic missiles likely stalemate our naval superiority. We can harass them, but never defeat them, from the air. And our once unquestioned ability to simply starve their economy by freezing their assets has been utterly discredited.

Anyway, I side with Russia and Christendom over the satanic west. Standing with child dangers is not my thing.

Russia was the center of an empire that collapsed. throughout the 90s, drunken revelers ran Russia, "privatizing" its assets and allowing criminal mafias to run rampant. In 2000, a great man emerged, and over the next few years he consolidated power. The west began harassing Russia in the early aughts, miffed and peeved that Putin was not playing ball. The Russian economy has been beset my numerous attacks by western banks

I believe that Putin is genuinely trying to improve the civilian economy, but is stymied on multiple fronts from doing so. I would not want to live in Russia - people are pretty poor. But the fact that you're not a destination location for emigres hardly makes you hell on earth. For that matter, my research puts Russia in 4th place, out of a couple hundred countries. https://worldpopulationreview.com/count ... by-country

In Russia, you don't have school kids harassed by trannies, men competing in women's sports, *** driving volvos in the suburbs, *** rioting in the skreets, tent cities in the major cities, needles and booze bottles in the parks, endemic muggings. You DO have a lot of alcoholism. But we have that, too.

Many people want to come here because humans instinctively follow the loot. I's why all roads led to Rome: Life is easier in the bully's lap than under his boot. And if you look at WHO is moving here, and where they are moving from, you immediately get a bit less cocky about being a destination location. Leaving Guatemala for ANYWHERE is likely on the top of those folks' wish lists - we're just a **** of a lot CLOSER than Russia is.

I don't think very much of the metric you reference. I consider it meaningless, TBH.

Good points. Putin definitely wants to good for Russia. He has proven that. I commend him for standing against NATO. NATO encroached on Russia, not the other way around. He is simply defending his country, like any good leader would do.

LOL. I don't dislike Russia. They are certainly justified in invading Ukraine, in my opinion. Putin is in the right.

Amazing isn't it?....Russia has the GDP of a large city....and yet builds such a military.

maybe that's why in 2 years they have been fought to a draw and had their navy destroyed by a country with no real navy
