The Squad’s Rep. Omar May Not Even Win Her Democratic Primary Election (msn.com)


Rep. Ilhan Omar faces a tough reelection battle in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, with former opponent Don Samuels running against her again.In 2022, Samuels reportedly came within 2,500 of upsetting Omar in the election and is currently revving up for a rematch.Omar has expressed concerns about President Biden’s stance on the Middle East conflict.“I recently had a conversation with the president,” said Omar during a recent radio interview.“Muslims were very pivotal to his election, they mobilized in all the key states,” she explained.“Young people were very instrumental in him getting elected,” continued the Squad-member.“And what I reminded him was that he needs to listen to these voices. People are heartbroken. It’s been really hard to have conversations about politics and policy,” she lamented.Adding, “People just want the images of young children’s bodies that are piling up to end and they want our support for this to end.”Despite her shift toward the center on some issues, she faces competition from other candidates, including a Republican challenger.
