I might chalk it up to no one wanting to play Santa any more (did they ever?). The Santa gig is the new janitor.

I never took a gig that paid less the 300. I played a mall santa one time - it was at a nordstroms in walnut grove. I can't remember exactly what it paid, but it was very good money. They got me through my agency and they would never have contacted me if it was under my minimum.
I had some of the best times of my life in the red suit. People adore santa, and the privilege of being that character is enormous. I could tell heart-touching stories for hours about being the big guy.

I just saw a mean Santa at my doctors office. He wouldn't let a kid hug him and another kid slapped 5 when he had his hand the Fn guy berated him.
