New legislation proposed in New York State would require eateries in state-owned New York State Thruway rest areas to operate seven days a week. If adopted, the legislation would put the state in conflict with a newly installed vendor at several of its Thruway rest areas: Chick-fil-A a chain famously closed on Sundays.Assemblyman Tony Simone, who sponsored the bill, stated that multiple food options are to be reasonably expected at a rest area. He expressed this with a quote that made me wonder whether his in-laws should be offended: “You know, we get hungry when we’re traveling. We may not like our brother-in-law or sister-in-law’s cooking and want to get a snack on Christmas Eve,” Simone said. “To find one of the restaurants closed on the Thruway is just not in the public good.”
“Publicly owned service areas should use their space to maximally benefit the public,” the justification reads. “Allowing for retail space to go unused one-seventh of the week or more is a disservice and unnecessary inconvenience to travelers who rely on those service areas.”
Some legal experts think Chick-fil-A could sue the state for infringing on its religious beliefs.

It's a cheap attack. Maybe it succeeds, maybe it doesn't. My money? It doesn't. But it ties up some soros-backed state's attorneys so they don't have to do anything about street crime. 
 

Chick-fil-A Is probably covered by their lease agreement until it expires.

I hope that Chick-Fil-A wins on this one. I have nothing against the state of New York but agree with some that businesses should be free to operate on whatever days that they want. Just so you know.. I have been to Chick-Fil-A twice and find it to be remarkably average.

Sounds like Chick-fil-A has a defamation lawsuit against Adams and NYC. You can't defame people like that.

The Dimocrats and their Soros DA's have recently taught us this. 

Defamation is just wrong and Chick-fil-A doesn't have to put up with it.

 

I hate those state run rest areas and service areas. They are expensive. Years ago during the 2007 crash I ended up having to drive a truck for a year or two. Had to go to an old Hostess plant in NJ. Stayed in my sleeper overnight in a Turnpike rest area and got up in the morning to get some coffee. All they had was a Starbucks. I hate bucks. I looked at the menu, then the clerk, and said "All I want is a large coffee with cream".

Then the guy behind me looked at me, and said 'I will have what he is having".
