she bought all new furniture and covered it all in plastic (it was a thing back then)
NOBODY was allowed to set on it
pissed my uncle off big time
they spent money that they really didn’t have
and they couldn’t use it

exactly...my wife's grandmother had a brand new car with the thick vinyl all encompassing seat covers...it burned your *** in the summer and set up like concrete in the winter...
