He's right. If I was in charge of a police station and an angry mob swarmed the building, I wouldn't have abandoned it. I would have told officers to "Fire at will."

Famed Harvard Lawyer Alan Dershowitz: We Don’t Have A Definition For Insurrection, Were BLM Protests An ‘Insurrection?’ (msn.com)

Alan Dershowitz believes the Supreme Court will likely rule in favor of allowing Donald Trump to appear on the ballot due to the lack of a clear definition of “insurrection.”He criticizes the decision as anti-democratic and unconstitutional, arguing that the 14th Amendment does not empower states to interfere with citizens’ voting rightsDershowitz expresses concern that affirming this decision could lead to electoral distress and a repeat of the 2020 election controversy.  He emphasized the need for a clear definition of “insurrection” and expresses a desire for a fair electoral process, even if it means voting against Trump.“We don’t even know what an insurrection is!” proclaimed Dershowitz.“He hasn’t been charged with insurrection, he hasn’t been convicted of insurrection,” he continued.“People will say that Biden was involved in an insurrection in allowing thousands of people to come across the border, or the people who were involved in the Black Lives Matter demonstration, or the people today who are protesting in the streets all over the country against American policy toward Israel. Some of these are socialist revolutionaries. You have to have a definition of what an insurrection is,” said Dershowitz.
“In the 60 years I have been teaching and practicing law, I have never seen a decision that is so anti-democratic and unconstitutional. It is absurd,” lamented the longtime defense attorney. "And the BLM riots were far more violent than what happened on January 6th. If there was any insurrection, that was it."

After which he balanced a ball on his nose, and was tossed a kipper...

Mayor Frey along with the guvna failed miserably and should have been immediately removed from office for failing to dispatch the police, State Patrol and the NG to protect the cities...
I agree with him...on Lake Street, a liquor store owner finally took it on his own along with his 2 buddies stood outside his store armed with ARs...when the rioters made their way to his store, they kept right on going...

Let's examine what they did.  Threw Molotov cocktails at federal building, tried to set them on fire with people in them, took over police stations, took over sections of a city, caused billions in damage.

Now compare that to Jan 6th.  Jan 6th was pretty tame compared to the summer of love.

Chauvin's only crime was being stupid enough to put himself and his bosses in a position where it was more expedient to put him behind bars than to quell a riot.

And in both cases neither of the unlawful mobs got mowed down.
Although it will be a different story at the Capitol from here on out when or if traitors assemble at trump's behest there again.
