CNN — A federal judge ruled a Massachusetts ban on assault weapons is consistent with a recent landmark Supreme Court decision that established firearms regulations must be consistent with the nation’s “historical tradition.”

According to the CNN story the Massachusetts law that was affirmed by the Federal judge has been in place since 1998, and you guessed it... is specific to the State of Massachusetts.

That's 25 years ago if you hadn't noticed.

In VA, as with most states below the Mason Dixon, we understand that these bans are based solely on exterior features that do not affect how the semi automatic rifle operates.

But, as you can see from previous responses you can get ban compliant ARs right from YOUR own neighborhood.  Nothing to worry about with this ban.
