Back channel deals isn't a sign of strength from putin at all.

The West is out of ideas for Ukraine. All plan and schemes have failed.

They never dreamed that at this point.....

Russia would still have Crimea, PLUS 80,000 sqmi of NEW RUSSIA.

Likely Ukraine will be partitioned between:

Russia, Poland and Hungary.

Of course he is.
He's embarrassing Russia on a daily basis.
He effectively showed how good the Russian military isn't.
He's even resorted to begging for munitions from N.K. and Iran.
He might want to look into bass boats,modernize to keep up with the Ukraine Navy. They're kicking his *** with Rangers and Lunds.
