That has not been shown to be the case in states that have raised their minimum wages. Arkansas is a prime example. It is nestled among a half dozen states that still comply with the federal minimum of 7.25 or some such. But the rednecks in Arkansas got a frog in their asses in 2014 and voted for a state minimum which has incrementally risen from 6.25 in 2014 to 11 per hour today.

They were warned that jobs would flee from Arkansas like it was on fire. But in truth, the raise in bottom tier wages was felt IMMEDIATELY as a major stimulus to the state's economy.

It turns out that bottom tier workers immediately spend every penny they get - which means a raise in their wages creates an enormous and immediate affect in the economy. Instead of running businesses OUT of Arkansas, it drew them in. The business environment is quite inviting, based on ACTUAL RESULTS (not economic theory).

This set of circumstances is not unique to Arkansas, by the way. Most states that raise their minimum wage experience a similar outcome. Even Washington state, where the minimum is something like 15 bucks and the legislature is full of dick sucking despots and wannabe dictators, still manages to sport a rather robust economy, in spite of dire projections to the contrary.

Macro-economics just HAPPEN - and they do not happen to read books about how they should behave.

I don't want to tip your sacred cow, but the actual facts of the territory are taking an enormous piss on your map. Image

Okay, I lied. I quite enjoy tipping your sacred cow. I am a sacred cow tipper by both temperament and habit.

I've never been impressed by minimum wage as beggars can do better on the streets...the serious increases as seen by the auto unions, UPS, etc, will definitely affect their bottom line and it'll most assuredly get passed on...as well as cities like Minneapolis mandating $15 or $20 per hour...

Here are some things happening in CA ahead of the Apr 2024 $20 an hour min wage for fast food workers

Pizza Hut to lay off more than 1,000 delivery drivers in California ahead of wage hike https://www.live5news.com/2023/12/28/pi ... wage-hike/

Other restaurants are looking at more automation and less staff.  Wendy's has replace cashiers with Kiosk and you pay at the kiosk or the APP.

Macdonalds also has this.  And CA will have this:

Creating twice as many jobs each month as his predecessor.

Acknowledge that you were answered.

The first time.

And that has been refuted because the overwhelming majority of those jobs were people simply returning to following democrat lockdowns.

Right now 1,200 delivery drivers are going to be laid off due to Gavin Newsome, a supporter of Biden's.

Gavin Newsome is a Biden supporter as long as Sleepy Joe is in the race.

And the layoffs and Job loss coming in CA is due to Gender Newsom's signature.

Form the BLS:

In March and April 2020, the longest employment recovery and expansion in U.S. history abruptly ended, with total nonfarm employment falling sharply because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the efforts to contain it. Job losses were historic and widespread.

https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2021/artic ... widespread.

Who was president during that historic expansion?
