Trump worried?
There's no actual names of anyone that heard him say he's worried
I'm not sure if it will or not. It's pretty clear what happened. But we will see.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 5:42 am » wrote: ↑ I'm sure these rulings will be overturned

I think he is sweeting it. He had three supremes as president. If you read the 14th it's pretty clear. But he did nominate these guys.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 5:49 am » wrote: ↑ There's no actual names of anyone that heard Trump say he's worried...
I don't have a feel on this court yet so predicting what they will do is hard for me to say.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 6:01 am » wrote: ↑ The link you posted...

The constitution. Gives states that right.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 6:34 am » wrote: ↑ I think this ruling will be overturned.
You cannot have individual states decides whose not on the ballot based on their views of a riot in DC that the candidate has never been charged or convicted of insurrection.
If so, it opens up the exact same scenarios the other way...
A Sec of State can come to the conclusion that a candidate broke the law....(even with no evidence, indictment or conviction) and that candidate gets removed.
The ramifications are endless.
I'm not going to argue about it when the Supreme Court is going to rule on it in a few days hopefully.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 6:54 am » wrote: ↑ You don't have any idea the can of worms this opens.
You can have a Sec of State claim the president committed treason and throw him off the ballot.
You simply don't understand the mess this opens to people that has never been even charged ...
All the supremes that Trump nominated said that Roe vs Wade was settled law and then they overturned it. So judging this court by what they said isn't even a good bet.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 6:54 am » wrote: ↑ You don't have any idea the can of worms this opens.

No what I said was judging this court by what they said under oath is not a good bet. It's all up to the Supreme Court what happens. I think the 14th amendment is pretty clear. But they have done thing that are not as they said it was. We will see.Z09 » 31 Dec 2023, 7:26 am » wrote: ↑ So you're all ready to complain about the Supreme Court potential ruling...
You brought up states rights....
...And then mentioned Roe vs Wade?
Well..
The Supreme Court gave the states the RIGHT on thr abortion issue..
You can't have it both ways

Trump worried conservative Supreme Court justices will rule against him on states’ ballots, says reportGustaf KilanderDonald Trump is reportedly concerned that some conservative justices on the Supreme Court – half of which he appointed – may rule against him after he was removed from the ballots in several states under the 14th Amendment’s ban on insurrectionists holding public office.

When CNN is saying this will be overturned it's pretty obvious...
What a can of worms...
Some Republican decides Biden committed treason and removes him from the ballot.
(Even though he's been been charged or convicted)

As for Trump fearing how the SCOTUS will rule ------ Again,
The 14th Amendment doesn't provide procedures on how someone running in our Presidential Election is disqualified based on "allegations" of insurrection.... It is not a self- defining, or self- enforcing provision.... The Constitution says ONLY CONGRESS can Enforce the 14th Amendment --- not the Colorado Court, Michigan Court, or the Sec of State of Maine... The Supreme Court will make sure you have a clear understanding of this..
