As much as I love Beretta, I'd choose the Mossberg. Strictly because it has about 2x the capacity of the Beretta. I think the Mossberg has 7+1 and the Beretta 3+1. Also, the Mossberg 940 is supported in the aftermarket for upgrades: https://www.or3gun.com/OR3GUN/about_or3 ... _parts.htmPOM » 08 Jan 2024, 1:53 pm » wrote: ↑ Beretta A300 Ultima vs Mossberg 940 tactical
which one, or neither?

Same capacity on both. I am leaning towards the Mossberg, but the Benelli M2 is one I had my eye on for a long time.Skans » 08 Jan 2024, 3:26 pm » wrote: ↑ As much as I love Beretta, I'd choose the Mossberg. I thought I read that the Beretta only had a capacity of 3+1. I could be wrong, or that particular one may have a small receiver.POM » 08 Jan 2024, 4:25 pm » wrote: ↑ Same capacity on both. I am leaning towards the Mossberg, but the Benelli M2 is one I had my eye on for a long time.
I didn't mention that because Benelli is inertia driven.
ELEVATE YOUR TACTICAL SET-UP with the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol - engineered to be ultra-reliable and easy to manipulate. Featuring the classic mechanisms of the venerable A300 platform, this defense shotgun includes enlarged controls, an enhanced loading port, a thinner forend design with multiple M-Lok and QD sling mounting points, and a 7+1 shot extended magazine tube secured by a custom barrel clamp with integral M-Lok capability.Skans » 08 Jan 2024, 4:35 pm » wrote: ↑ I thought I read that the Beretta only had a capacity of 3+1. If the capacity is the same, I'd choose the Beretta over the Mossberg. I'm a big fan of Beretta shotguns, particularly their O/U's.
Lots of variables come into play....Skans » 04 Jan 2024, 10:16 am » wrote: ↑ Engraved Guns - Like 'em, Hate 'em or indifferent.
I note that these S&W revolvers with the engraving are selling for about $800 more than the plain-jane models. Anyone have any thoughts about this?
The S&W 627 I posted a picture of is actually factory engraving. My guess is that it is laser engraved with possible hand engraved enhancements. So, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it - its just not that type of engraving. Now, I have to ask myself should I ever have to shoot a carjacker, "what would the Jury think of that gun?"Kobia2 » 09 Jan 2024, 9:39 pm » wrote: ↑ Lots of variables come into play....
Depends on the Gun --- the reason for the Engraving (not Acid Etching), such as custom personalization as a presentation piece with someone's name on it... or Manufacturer special commemoration arms ---- and if the person doing the Engraving is a known artist in the field.. These can greatly increase the value of the Gun, or lessen the value.... But such, as with any collectible, condition is paramount, so these end up being display pieces ...
The pieces with the extravagant Engraving & Gold inlay look far more appropriate on a Wall than in the Field or on the Firing Range.
If it's a fair and impartial jury, they'd think that was a **** great shot with a beautifully engraved gun.....Skans » 10 Jan 2024, 8:38 am » wrote: ↑ The S&W 627 I posted a picture of is actually factory engraving. But on rare occasions, a special breed of idiot comes along like this dubious dumb-**** ---- and no jury is necessary.. You can see in the Pic, they blurred his dead *** on the ground out, with his Homie and crime partner standing over him with arms outstretched, like what the ****? LOLOLOL
I've never actually seen a factory engraved Python. Personally, I don't even have one engraved gun. But, I sort of like that S&W 627.Kobia2 » 10 Jan 2024, 11:22 am » wrote: ↑

I'm enjoying this Gun Thread, but for some reason it isn't showing in the list with the rest of the topic threads... Any ideas why?Skans » 11 Jan 2024, 2:57 pm » wrote: ↑ Now, that's some history there! Who knew that Nixon was a fan of Elvis? Or, that Elvis was a fan of Nixon.
