No, the problem with it is that there are exceptions to every rule.  And your data means nothing to those who are in middle of those exceptions.

According to NYPD statistics, overall crime was down in New York City in 2023 by just under a percentage point compared to 2022. Both years saw more reported crimes compared to 2020 and 2021, but rates are lower compared to 2019, before COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.

 Murders are down 11.9%, with 386 far this year, as opposed to 438 murders in 2022. And rapes, burglaries and shootings have all seen double-digit percentage point decreases since 2022.

I'll wager the vast majority of those who live in these parts have never witnessed any either.
We have a token quantity of American Indians, some Mexicans, some Hajis, a few Pajeets and assorted Gooks.

Education is thus.. how much you value it. Graduating high school is not sufficient to detract from crime. The families that I observed having legal troubles were the ones that rode the line between doing ok and complete disaster. Going to college (2 year or 4 year) largely insulates someone from the paycheck to paycheck struggle. A struggle where one night of questionable decision making brings down your house of cards. 

Those who are middle class (and therefore unlikely to be on public assistance) do not commit crime at nearly the rate of those who are poor (as defined by the BEA).
