Alternatively, what is the difference between some in the party?

To start, let's just frame the question by assuming liberals, progressives, revolutionaries, and Democrats.  What do you see at the major differences?  Are there any?  What is a progressive today anyway?  Has much progress been made?  It seems we keep spinning our wheels.  We play this back and forth game of two squirrels taking turns chasing one another.

If you think about progressive, then you think about reform. But isn't that just a stale term? Seems it's just an excuse not to do anything.

Progress is about implementing new, liberal ideas. But are there any new ideas under the sun? It seems everything has been done. So it is just a matter of resurrecting ideas that have fallen out of favor or on deaf ears? I keep hearing that Democrats where once the anti-war party. And that Berkeley was the genesis of the modern free speech movement. Are those ideas dead?

It all depends on what you want, and what you believe. There are Moderate Democrats who are closer to Right leaning Republicans on issues like taxation, regulation, and crime. Meanwhile Progressives want big bold changes like Single Payer Healthcare. Some Progressives want to get rid of Capitalism. Not all Democrats are the same.
