Yep, been coming down again here for about an hour.

I only stayed put the first day when it snows, then I have to get out... if for nothing more than to run to the corner store for a Gatorade or something.

There was no ice here this time around so the driving hasn't been bad at all. It supposed to get down in the teens again tonight so tomorrow morning maybe slicker than snot. Well just have to see.

They put down black top right after WW2 and yeah, we've had shoes for a while.

The moonshine is as good as it ever was but I haven't had a chaw in years.
 
 

Talked to a buddy yesterday still delivering fuel in Oregon, the ice storms are creating havoc not seen for a lot of years.

10-12 tire chains will get you there but if the road is closed, the road is closed. Gas stations out of gas.

I don't miss it one bit!

What really helps is to do exercises indoors.
If a person does a 10 minute session every 3 or 4 hours that really adds up at the end of the day.
There are custom tailored exercise routines designed to fit any  person's level of fitness and age on You Tube.

Google "10 minute chair exercise" to get started

 I know it's totally my fault though... I did a bad thing.. I put a hydraulic chute control on my blower....

The roads that weren't treated or plowed are all ice this morning... and not snow covered ice either... but like skating rink ice.

It happens every time it snows here. A day or two after it snows, the temps rise just enough to start melting the snow, and then drop right back down into the teens or single digits that night.

Instant ice rink on every surface that wasn't previously cleared of snow... which around here is typically only a handful of main roads.

Where our house is in our neighborhood i have to go up hill anyway I go to get out. I can make it, but only if no other traffic or sledders are in my way and I can get a good run at it. 

Once I'm on the main road, its clear as a bell, but getting out of the hood without smashing a parked car or ending up in a ditch is a crap shoot. It's literally like driving on a wet ice rink.

Fun times...the old "take a run at it "....throwing caution to the wind...been there done that many times...

 I have a long E/W drive open fields both sides that drops down 4-5' onto the highway to the E...the plow furrow can be a problem especially with a good NW wind...having to "take a run" to get through, then take a hard left or right onto a 60mph 2 lane highway hoping it's not too icy so I can actually make the turn...

coming home is the same way, assessing the other driveways on the 10 mile stretch prior. Hopefully traffic is light or I pull over on shoulder and wait for an opening, then going across other lane, turn hard and gun it hoping to get a good run getting thru or at least deep enough my *** end isn't hanging out...the fun part is getting so far but not making it up the hill to the flats, then backing out across the highway and making another run...especially when the highway is icy... have made the walk a few times to get the tractor, shovel and chains...

not gonna lie, I don't miss those times of having to go to work...now I get to it mid morning unless I gotta be somewhere...
