I happen to have 2 very similar leather riding jackets.  One made  in the USA, the other in Pakistan. ImageCafe Racer (that's what its called) style jacket.  The American one uses a slightly more supple leather.  But, the Paki jacket is almost as well made - requires a bit more break-in and conditioning cream to get the "feel" right, but still uses thick leather and breaks the wind. Paki jacket cost about 2/3 what the USA jacket cost.  The Pakis actually make some decent leather products.  Just say'n.  Now, shoot me F-ers for say'n that!!!

Leather primarily comes from cattle, sheep, and goats. I wouldn't trust the Paki ones given that they enjoy **** sheep and goats. There is probably a reason why it is more stiff. Check for stains.

A little human DNA admixture - some people might pay more for that?

So, you'd be fine with the Paki-jacket.

I purchased the U.S.A. jacket years after I bought the Paki-Jacket. I take some pride wearing the one made here.  Yet, n my mind, I remembered the Paki-jacket being harder, stiffer leather and I was glad to finally be able to get the American Made version.  When I took the Paki out to compare it side by side, I have to say I had a bit of disappointment that the Paki was nearly as good as the American one.  I actually intended to get rid of the Paki, but in seeing that it is actually quite good quality I kept it.

I have a couple I have bought recently and one may be a paki jacket.  Not sure about the other.  I don't ride but I like them both.

I have to say, my Paki-made jacket is a damn fine riding jacket.  Believe me, I didn't want to conclude this.  Yes, I did have to use some leather conditioner to get the right "feel" out of it.  Once I did that, the leather actually turned out to be excellent quality.

I can't tell you how many jackets I touched before buying the Paki that I did.  The leather has to be thick enough to break the wind, supple enough to bend properly and tough enough to protect me if I lay my bike down.  ****, I can't wait until it warms up a bit and I can get out there riding again.

Manbuns are gay.  But, even gayer than that are bald heads. Still, there's this....Image

No, no, no.  If you own that many leather jackets, you MUST get a motorcycle.  Even if all you do is polish the thing in your garage. This Softail will be easy on the bones, Squatch.....

On another note, I was watching the Mecum Motorcycle auction last night.  Saw several Honda CB750's that I'd love to have....

I have a 82 Yamaha Virago 750 ....I've had since since 1991.....when I refurbished it ......
My 15 year-old grandson has been eyeing it for several years now ......asking what I am going to do with it since the only thing I ride now a days are my racing quads around the ranch.....
I gave him a 84 Honda CR80 for his 12th birthday .....and he has proven to be quite responsible with the safety aspects .....
My Daughter in law has told me that she is against me giving him the Yammy and My wife has pretty much the same attitude and would rather I give him one of my cars .....
My son also sided with his wife and mother ......
So, how I resolved the situation I think was pure genius on my part ......
I gave them a choice the Yammy or the 82 Trans Am with a 400 American big block .....
Guess which one they picked ....
My grandson is getting a Virago for his 16th birthday.....

I used to. Still have my leathers as a keepsake, I guess.
Brooks (Made in Detroit).  Great jacket.

Dumped my bike at 65mph, **** up the bike, helmet and face shield, only a little scuff on the right shoulder of the jacket.
The jacket was the best survivor of the bunch.  Image
My shoulder was **** up bad. Finished a 9 day vacation with no instruments or headlight.
I got a dislocated shoulder and permanently detached collarbone. Had to use my other hand to raise my arm to the throttle.

Took over a year before I got my knock-out punch back.

Brooks made the Harley brand too. Just relabeled it for them only.
Please seat yourself.

Hey, grandpa, now how about that 82 Trans Am!!!!! :D

That's a tough call.  I'd take that Trans Am - always wanted one of those.  But, I remember being 16 and even then, I was infatuated with motorcycles.  A restored Virago would be a real nice bike to ride.  My 1st bike was a Honda CB550.  I thought it was really big and powerful when I bought it too.  I restored it the best I could for being 19 and low on $$$.

I wouldn't give up that jacket for nothing!!!  Sorry to hear about the spill.  I've only dumped once - going around a corner only doing about 25mph.  But, hit sand and before I knew it, the bike was sliding down the road with my leg under it.  In shorts and a T-shirt.  No broken bones like what you had, but a bunch of road rash. Wrecking going 65 is something I pray never happens.

That jacket of yours saved you a lot of extra pain.
