WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter still
suffers at least 65 basic deficiencies where it continues to fail to meet basic testing specifications,
the Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) said in a report.

A10 Warthog is the only project that I heard of coming in before the deadline and under budget.

If there are others, I'm sure the list is pretty short.

Imagine you're in the pilot's seat right there coming in for a carrier landing. Notice those leading edge flaps drooped down to increase the high AoA lift. Now consider that those movable surfaces have to be able to be kept perfectly still and flutter free at 1200 MPH. 
Lots of very "trick ****" packed into that airframe that don't meet the eye...
