Why would anyone 70 and older care deeply about this?

I figure most people 70+ are going to reach their life expectancy before the **** gets sucide-worthy.
So, isn't a fairly successful life one the reaches their life expectancy?

Our political officeholders and pending candidates are at retirement age in many cases. Why should they care as much as they may have 30 years ago? They rode this pony to the edge of the cliff and if he goes over in the next ten years, they got theirs, right?

That ain't pretty for the rest of us though. We can't all move to Russia or China.

See what i mean? You say 10 years and I said anybody 70+... 
So the math checks within a few months.   

I've often wondered what the **** drives people like Trump, Biden, our judges, etc. to be so enamored with power or greed to keep busting *** until they are doddering old and frail shadows.
You hit 70, why not take a rest?
Some are still sharp but most are beginning the slide into a rocking chair.
