If it were lotto, it would seem like nothing.  But many scratch off winners are one and five dollars.  A thousand for an instant win is uplifting for suckers. It seems like even easier money than waiting until Sat. for a drawing.

$1,000 isn't going to change anyone's life.  If you're not in it for "life-changing money", then what's the point?  Hardly anyone ever wins a real lottery - but lots of people sink thousands of dollars into it each year making others rich. Its a sucker's game.  Even Roulette is a sucker's game, but your odds of winning there are exponentially greater than the lottery.  I never understood why folks opt for the lottery?
