Apparently, Trump is doing something he rarely does, backtracking. The former President is now saying he would support a 15-16 week Federal abortion ban. This is still a vital issue on state level elections however ever since Dobbs allowed for bans at that level. Some people vote on this issue alone. Is the sanctity of life more important than votes? Or is the issue of abortion one of personal choice and not a lack of choice for everyone?

I am still waiting for the law that forces women to get pregnant in the first place. 


Contraceptives are cheap and can even be free. Evidently, the law prevents this, I guess. Can someone show me that law?

People are careless I assume. It would be better though if women and men were more careful. Abortion should always be a last resort IMHO.

I think you might be getting this wrong.  What I believe Trump is saying or trying to say is that he favors a 15-16 week federal "safe harbor" where states cannot stop women from obtaining an abortion.  In essence, this would be the codification of a slightly more restrictive abortion law than as defined under Roe v. Wade.

I could be wrong about what he is saying or trying to say on this.  I'm just basing this on my limited understanding of where Trump stands on abortion.

I'm just giving you my interpretation.  Its the only thing that would make sense to me and somewhat in line with things Trump has said in the past.  Trump has never taken a hard-line on abortion.  He committed to appointing justices to the Supreme Court who would be constitutionalists and recognize states rights.  And, that's what he did.  Trump never committed to appointing justices that would ban all abortions.  He's not a fundamentalist.

Just because someone thinks Roe v. Wade was bad law, doesn't mean that that person is for banning all abortions.
