Spending tax dollars to save a nickel's worth of currency never made sense to me either. Until you figure out what planned obsolescence does in real time.

1) Trump didn't stop anything since he is not an elected official.
and
2) The emergency spending package that contained funds for the border would have done nothing to stem the flow, since the funding was for increasing the efficiency of processing... which would have actually expedited the flow of illegals.

The border "deal" was a very small part of an "emergency" spending package that focused more on funding foreign wars than securing the U.S. border... and it did very little at stemming the flow of illegals. The Senate stripped the border "reform" portion to try and salvage the war funding. If the Dems were serious about true reform, then introduce a stand alone reform package and let it stand on its own merits.
