Sounds weird, eh?  Sounds weird to me also.

This pic is the 1915 NY Giants at spring training.  And yet they're all dead.

Grieving vs regret, how are they separate? Sorrow vs sorry for being an *** the whole time you were evolving equally here.

If you could travel back in time, you would see that they are not dead.
Time is infinite.  Everything will happen given an infinite amount of time to allow it to happen.
Someday, someone will travel back in time to the moment when that photo was snapped.
At that moment, the people in the photo will be alive.

What makes time infinite and evolving uniquely here, finite one cycle per ancestor each generation gap changing people alive now as proportionately separated in these combination of generation gaps arriving since inception to this atmosphere

one at a time to replace their 4 previous generations since inception of their ancestral lineage
second generation gap becoming 1 of 2 parents changing original generation gap into 1 of 4 grandparents.
3rd generation gap transforms original into 8 great grandparents 2nd 4 grandparents 3rd creating next generation of 1 of 2 parenting a 4th generation gap.

I am describing a self evident evolving pattern that doesn't work with missing links, but intellectual vernacular tribalism won't allow instinctive awareness by individual adapting in plain sight to living uniquely alive.
