Russia with a GDP of a city the size of New York can't sustain any kind of war for very long....especially when western weapons which are light years more advanced that anything Russia has come calling....so far our old **** we gave ukraine has kept Putin's 2 week war going for over 2 years

Hey, Junior, it was the same way during the first cold war.  Russia had more tanks, more guns, more troops and of course more amnunition.  Take for instance the original M1 Abrahams.  Technology and tactics were employed that it was supposed to take out 10 Russian T72s or T80s before becoming combat ineffective.

We had a major technological advantage because they had more of everything.  And I saw a lot of Soviet equipment after the wall came down.  It sucked and was ancient.

Welp going back half a century atleast Corporations found cheaper labor in 3rd world backwaters overseas ..

Plus "Environmental Whackjobs" goosed this Global Warming "Climate Change put all these laws & regulations further making our Industrial Base "Non Competitive"..despite still having "Higher Standards" already back then than China or Mexico have Too this day

And Corporations & Stock Share Holders got "Billions" in profits started paying off politcians keep that going & "Off-Shore" more & more this Really took off under Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush...

Now after "COVID" learned about Real "Supply" Chains and don't count on stuff from across the world just being there on a steady schedule ..

Now when this nation was hard core "Industrial" we made our own provided "Family" Supporting Jobs and had plenty of stuff plus even won WORLD WARS because could crank out weapons and airplanes back in WW2 we helped Soviet Russia under the "Lease Lend" program "Armed" Stalins Army push Nazi Germany back look it up too

Now most them old Factories & Mills have been torn down the property eventually redevelopment into Condos or Shopping Centers too basically that "Infrastructure" no longer even exists anymore if we wa ted start making our own once again take decades rebuild new plants get that rolling and running too

The war is "Basically" a Stalemate..

Neither side made much advancement it's abuncha missiles & artillery fire dug in term the lines few gains here or there one side or the other.

I hope our Pentagon & Military Leaders are taking notes about what Old School "Conventional War" is how they were fought..

Now hate to say this America last 50 years had no "Competitor" Real Military..

Afghanistan, Iraq , they backwards places a half century behind behind and we could just shoot abuncha missiles and Air Force raids..

Then we would give them billions of $$$ "Rebuild " their country after bombing the crap outta it

we have found out that all this great Russian equipment doesn't work as advertised.  India is pissed because they bought hundreds of T-90 main battle tanks from Russia and they "turret toss" from a single hand grenade laid at the back of the turret....plus they aren't air conditioned so India can't use them for anything other than an easy bake oven

-90,000 sq miles of New Russia - some of the most fertile farmland in the world.  Florida is 70,000 sq miles
-Crimea still firmly in Russian hands.
-4 million new Russians.
-Russia soundly defeated Ukraine in the 3 largest battles - Mariupol, Bakhmut, Avdeevka.
-Ukraine military is in tatters.  Every one admits they are low in ammo and men.
-Russia has decimated the largest and strongest military in Europe.

If thats a stalemate, the we need a new definition.

What scares me more Russia is known for it's "Corruption" & Incompetentce" yes they got 4/5  times the population of Ukraine to draw from 170/180 million people versus UKRAINE 45/50 millon..

China is also keeping an eye out and over the last afew decades has put "Millions & Trillions" into Weapons Development and Building their Navy and checkbook diplomacy with other nations for infrastructure & military/ Navy Bases

Now at the "current" moment China way more "Dependant" economically on a "USA" Dollar cannot really Afford momentarily to actually invade Philippines or Taiwan loose half their freaking Economy too with a Billion Mouths 2 Feed too & keep "Civil Order"..

But someday when "China" does Decide they can tell us to "F-Worded" 4 good they are more "Structured" & Regimented Society not sucking down bottles of Vodka daily and on dope like Russians..

They are gonna much more "Calculated" and the stockpiles of weapons stocking Wall Mart store 4 "Decades" paid for a with "Our Own" $$$ to fund em our "Short-Sighted" Economy Polices

No invading force has ever taken over afghanistan. Plus, the US, for better or worse, no longer fights wars to take over a country.
