44.4% of offenses among prisoners are drug offenses. How about we only keep the violent offenders in prison and build more drug rehab centers for that 44.4%. This would certainly solve the overcrowding problem. Yes, some druggies don't want to change. I get that. But let's be honest, prison doesn't rehab them either, obviously. It seems that this would be more financially feasible.

A good many violent offenders committed the violence in relation to the drug trade so...

I do like the premise of treatment over incarceration though... including dual diagnosis treatment as many of the incarcerated are dealing with mental issues as well as addiction.

True, then keep them inside. However, if it is just drug offense, then send them to rehab.

My buddie told me he saw a sex offender on TV saying he doesn't want to get out.  They were going to give him a early out.  He said he was use to the life style now and if he got out he would reoffend within a week and he knew it.  My good friend who was in prison said the guy is right where he belongs.

I don't understand...when the state tries to put a criminal to sleep and the drugs don't work; why not just give him fentanyl in his last meal.

If the death penalty is being carried out, the most effective and cost effective method is a .45 ACP hollow point round to the base of the skull.

That, or a guillotine.

I am kinda sorta against the death penalty because innocent men have gone to the hangmen.

I talked to a dealer at the prison I worked at, asking him why he risked it. He said he liked having a lot of money, women, and not having to work.

Aren't most of those coming across our southern border tourists that came through Mexico from their southern border. Would America care if they just went into Canada like they did Mexico?

Hell America would supply a 3 times a day amtrak train route for just them. No lay, overs there will be special train stations along the way where food, one night motel rooms where they get to shower, sleep, bet back on the train. High security for them and American citizens to prevent hate crimes from either side.
