Actually this is not who we are...and it is not the soul of the west.
Historically Europeans were actually very civilized people and understood that conflict between nations was just an unfortunate part of the human condition. War was occasionally impossible to avoid...but the right of nations to exist was respected and it was understood that war was not always a conflict between some cosmic good and cosmic evil...but just a product of circumstance and limited resources.
That was, for example, the spirit of the treaty of Westphalia...but that treaty was just formalizing an attitude that was always natural to us. Europeans were expected to treat prisoners honorably, to be true to our word, and to hope that enemies today might in the future be friends.
That attitude seemed to change after the world wars...especially world War 2. Then the attitude was that Germany was not simply germany...and the German leaders not merely fighting for germany...but they were a force of cosmic evil that had to be killed...and many even promoted the idea of genociding all germans.
Even today, if a person prefers to not go to war, they will be accused of being a new neville chamberlain...and anyone our elite wants to kill will be compared to adolf hitler. The holocaust myth has never been used to promote peace...it is always used to provoke war.
And there is a distinctly old testament tone to all of our foreign policy today...that any geopolitical adversary is a sort of amalek...who must not merely be defeated in battle but also completely wiped out...'bombed to the stone age', at the very least. This is an unsettling shift in attitude to combine with the technology of nuclear weapons.
and of course, just as I mentioned the old testament earlier, it feels much more jewish to me than western. This is really a product of jews using their money to seize control of western institutions...and there is nothing western about it at all. Western people simply no longer have a state at all.
