The .357magnum in the right hands is the better man stopper. Lots of fire and recoil. You better be proficient with it. Plus it's heavy and tough to conceal.
The high capacity M&P is a much softer shooter. It will be easier to carry and conceal because it's lighter and thinner than the revolver. Follow up shots are quicker. But you may need it because 9mm. is not as hard hitting as the .357.
