I used to think the same thing. Until I realized how grueling and intense it is to sit in a car for 3 hours going 150+ MPH surrounded by cars 4" from you going the same speed taking those left hand turns and not ramming into one. 

It's a very skilled "sport" that requires the driver knowing a lot of **** about how the car feels and turns and all that mechanical garbage

I RUN STOCK CARS 20-30 LAPS ON A SMALLER OVAL CIRCUIT AND FEEL MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTED AND I'M PHYSICALLY FIT.
CAN'T IMAGINE HOW IT MUST BE DOING 120 LAPS, BETWEEN 300-500 MILES.
