Every retail outlet that has the pad screen checkout set up has a tip option added to the transaction.

I was in a liquor store I hadn't been in for a minute a couple of weeks ago and they had the tap card iPad rig for check out and sure as ****, it prompted me to leave a tip before finalizing the total.

I just tip 15% in 95% of cases...maybe for exceptional service 18%. A lot of restaurants believe their customers are retarded (which isn't a bad assumption) and add the tip as a % of [price + taxes] vs just the price. 

You know they're guilt tripping you the moment they swing that iPad around...while the restaurant owner(s) themselves took PPP money and spent it on lavish boats or whatever.

I always carry cash for the waiter or waitress when we go out to eat so they can pocket it and hopefully not have to pay taxes on it.

A lot of restaurants do tip share now and the wait staff is required to turn in even their cash tips to be recorded and distributed evenly among the workers on shift at the time.

Wait staff i don't mind tipping because in most cases they make **** on the hour, so they count on the tips to live.

What I won't do it tip at the liquor store or a convenience store. That's just ridiculous.
