Biden administration set to announce new tariffs on electric vehicles from China
The White House is set to announce new China tariffs as soon as next week, with a levy on electric vehicles and other clean energy goods.
The full announcement is expected on Tuesday and will target solar goods, critical minerals, and batteries from China, according to reporting from the Wall Street Journal. The Biden administration has invested in these industries domestically. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

An economy cannot stand on service alone. There has to be some production, of yo provide decent jobs if nothing else. The "GLORIOUS" Chinese beat our asses on labor cost with their unending supply of slaves, so taxing their cheap exports isn't just a necessity, it's damn near a requirement.
Hemlock Semiconductor spent billions and built a small city in KY/TN 15 years ago to build solar panels, and shuttered the damn thing because the Chinks undercut the market with their cheap labor and manufacturing regulations. Tariffs would have prevented the loss, but Obammy wasn't about all that at the time... because, as you stated, it would raise prices... and hurt the "party" too of course.

Tariffs are generally a bad idea. By the time the impact of them goes into effect, it's always the citizens of both countries that are negatively effected.
- Consumers, in both countries , have to deal with higher prices.
- It slows down economic growth on both sides.
- May cause retaliation.
- Impacts supply chains.
