filled the gutters with soil. planted beans. roof rain waters my beans. have blue lake beans growing down the side of my home.

I just removed the ground level of my house so the gutters are knee high now.
Way easier to weed the garden.

neighbor has an under ground house with flat roof. lots of vent holes for sticking head thru and eating tomatoes on the roof.

You have any idea the stress that puts on a house's roof edge. you didn't include the depth. You thinking hydroponics system? The heat from the sun reflecting off the roof will destroy them.
