What they "got him now" is a bump in the polls and about $250 million in cash headed into the Summer campaign season.
The scuttlebutt is that the RNC is going to try and get their convention rescheduled to land before Merchan sentences Trump in July, so Trump is the nominee before sentencing.
Merchan will have to impose sentence on an official candidate for the office of POTUS, which could throw a legal curveball into the mix if Merchan does actually sentence him to prison for the **** convictions.
I've also read that the Secret Service is working how to protect candidate Trump in prison if Merchan is actually bold enough put him behind bars. Merchan is gonna do what he's told either way, so it's really not up to him anyway.
If nothing else, it's gonna be fun to watch!
