The VA health care system and the active duty military hospitals are prime examples of what we can expect to expect a nationally socialized  medical system to be like.
The current system is already so top heavy with administrators who don't contribute one iota to anyone's well being.
How can any sort of heavily regulated government controlled system be run any better...?
Over the years military / VA hospitals  care for a small percentage of "we the people' but the horror stories about  3rd rate care abound.

Our 'socialist' roads, parks, and libraries are mostly really good.

I think you might have missed my central issue - which is *** defending Americans paying for FOREIGNERS' care while the same *** would deny the same care to their countrymen.

If you read that until it ISN'T an argument for socialized medicine, you'll see that in fact it is an argument against Frank Burns liver lips *** by pretendocons, pedocons, and conjob cons. AKA israel-firsters.
