Probably jail time quickly suspended.

I wouldn't be so sure. Bear in mind this judge totally rejected the plea deal because it was a sweetheart, no jail time deal. I expect he is going to get something out of it, and it would likely be along the lines of 14-18 months. That seems to be the usual sentence for this kind of crime.

I'm just relieved that his lawyer wasn't successful bull **** the jury.

I have some sympathy because he was a drug addict but he made choices and there's consequences.

It won't matter.
The judge is free to act tough, knowing full well that the fix is in, and the only thing a jail time sentence will do will be to force Joe to give him a full pardon right after election day so it won't hurt him politically.

Hunter will never spend a day in prison.

This is actually a cause for celebration for Joe. With the conviction Joe can run for office saying the justice system worked. If he got off the campaign would be hammered with accusations of witness tampering, influencing the trial, intimidation, etc.
