They won't need to confiscate the weapons.
We learned during the Obongo Dynasty that all they have to do is buy up all the ammo that's manufactured before it can get put into the supply chain.

in my area people know how to make ammunition. i would recommend, civilians against the biden illegal army take over, learn to make their own amo. stop biden's illegal army from growing. vote trump. then use your legal weapons to arrest all of biden's illegal troops, and deport the illegals.

Somewhere I've got an "improvised firearm" article that outlines how many match heads it takes to "build a bullet" for the most common guns and rifles.
Match heads have about 2/3 the amount of power.
The article also outlines how to make your own gun powder  and primers too.
It looks pretty dangerous.
